Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in the United States. Since the mid 80s Angela Evelyn has appeared in film and TV. The actress has won many awards, including sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Bassett originates originally from New York New York. She was raised at Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett along with her sister and their mother were moved to St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was just five. The father of the family had split from the mother of their children. When she was in high school Bassett saw John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided she would like to be an actor. Following her graduation from Yale University New Haven Connecticut in the year 1980, she earned the Bachelor's degree in African American Studies, she was able to obtain a Master's Degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. In 1997, she got married to Courtney B. Vance who was a fellow actor. Qualification: B.A. Graduated from Yale School of Drama School with a master's in African American studies, in 1980.
